SELLING IN DIFFERENT SEASONS, PROS & CONS

There are different attributes to selling in each season of the year. Take these into consideration before making the best decision for you and your home.

The auction clearance rates and price growth reminds us that the Australian property market is active all year round.

There are pros and cons to selling in each of the seasons:

Spring
- with warm weather and blue skies, spring is generally the best time of year to sell. Your garden will be blooming and it will be easy for potential buyers to imagine themselves happily living
in your beautiful property. However you’ll have a lot of competition from other sellers who have the same idea, and they will also attract prospective buyers.

Summer
- offers beautiful days, great sunlight and often people have time off work to browse houses. However, they also head overseas or interstate and prioritise holidaying over property hunting.

Autumn
- can be busy because people who sold their properties during the spring or summer rush are looking to buy. Families might be feeling the pressure to upsize their homes before the school term starts and life starts getting hectic.

Winter
- is generally considered the worst choice of season for a seller – but with less competition and the correct marketing, your warm and cosy property could look more inviting to potential buyers.
